Helicopter Money:

One fine morning, a boy was playing on the terrace. He was completely immersed in his play, flying a kite. He was so excited that he wanted to touch the clouds passing in the sky. Due to his good kite-flying skills, he was able to reach high altitudes. The kite flew so high that he lost sight of it. After some time, he noticed something falling from the sky. He felt bad, thinking his kite was untangled and coming back down. But to his surprise, as the object came closer, he realized it was something else. He jumped up and caught it. It was a currency note.

Realizing that it was money, he immediately left all his playthings and ran downstairs to his mother, shouting with excitement. He found his mother sitting idly at the dining table, worried about something, and eating. Noticing her son calling her, she turned to him. The boy came running towards her and jumped in front of her, showing her the currency note with great anticipation. His mother was shocked. She grabbed the note from the boy’s hand with excitement and asked him, “How did you get this?” The innocent boy replied instantly that it came from the sky. He explained that a helicopter was flying above the clouds, and someone had thrown the money down to him.

His mother, obviously not believing the boy’s story, took him to his father. His father, who was a technician at a nearby factory, had lost his job and was sitting at home watching TV. The mother complained about their son lying about where the money came from. The sincere father got angry and was about to scold the boy.

Suddenly, breaking news appeared on the TV: helicopters were indeed distributing money from the sky! The whole family was shocked, and they ran outside, hoping for more money to fall.

As the news continued, it explained that, due to the pandemic (e.g., the coronavirus), there were large amounts of stockpiled goods in businesses, warehouses, and storage facilities. However, because many people had lost their jobs, there was no one to buy these goods due to a lack of money. To address this, the local government decided to distribute money to the public to help them purchase necessities and, at the same time, to move both perishable and non-perishable stock. This, in turn, would help mitigate the economic downturn the country was experiencing. Since it was difficult to reach everyone through normal means, the government used helicopters to distribute money to people across the country. This method was called Helicopter Money.
